I started playing guitar and writing songs when I was about 12 years old.
The earliest roots of my preforming started with my brother Jason and I in the confines of our house and on the stage at out church, where we would attempt to lead worship at the ages of 15 and 13.
My first band "the kermits" (who eventually changed their name to "We're not Elvis"was a short lived hype in and of itself...no fans....dozens of half written songs... and tons of fun with 4 guys in a garage![]() |

In the late 90's, my group Word of Mouth" (a 3 peice remnant of WNE) gave me my first taste of recording. We ended up putting out a demo that sold like a hundered disks...
not too bad.
Through the years I've played with lots of Groups.
When I got to college I learned of the wonderful word of digital recording.
I began building up my studio and with my roomate Aaron Cross began to hone in on some recording arts.By the time we graduted we had enough equiptment and knowledge to each produce a little demo disk.Durring this time I spent a lot of time writing songs and committing them to harddrive.
God has blessed me with the opportunity to have some of my songs find a fairly large regional audience.
Thanks to some of my friends like Jordan Clark, Dave McCants, my brother Jason and handful of youth ministers, songs like "Fly","Beautiful to Me", " I am Still", "Another Day" and "Sacrfice" have found a spot on set lists
alongside some of the greatest worship songs of our day. I thank you all for enjoying, learning, playing and teaching those songs.
I give God the Glory.
Through that time AC and I played with a lot of other groups in various hodge podge worship settings.
Our main focus was a coffee house scene and an acoustic duo that we called "No Frills and Chile Con Carne". Rock and Comedy was our forte...we still do this act sometimes. Then, AC and I ventured into our dream of putting together a real band. We joined forces with (briefly Greg Coverdale)my brother Jason and Su Nguyen to form 5moreminutes.5moreminutes is done for now. Maybe one day we'll play some of those tunes again.
Chris Woolard Band
These days I'm doing stuff as a Solo act or under the name "Chris Woolard Band" composed of Marty Anderson (drums) Jordan Clark (Lead and Sequencing), Aaron Collins (On Lead) and Greg Coverdale on bass. The lineup changes from time to time since luckily I've had the great honor of running into a ton of great musicians over the years.
