Well, I've been blogging at xanga.com for several years now. It's been a great way to keep in touch with old friends and read up on people's quirks. I've recently been switching everything over to the google franchise. Since they're pretty much going to own the word soon I figured I'd go ahead and bow down. So i switched from hotmail to gmail after probably 10 years of faithful hotmail citizenship and now the blogger space. The social network that google has is really nothing compaired to facebook or myspace so I don't think I'll be hopping on that band wagon any time soon.
I'm not sure what the purpose of a blog is for someone like me. Some people's blogs win loyal followings and others are just personal journals. The problem with the latter option is that anything you write online is forever going to be out there so I'm not generally cool with the online whiners who post all of their personal secrets on the web and get offended when others comment it or when it gets back to someone they didn't want to know.
For me I think I'll be a bit or a social commentator, a religious opinion haver and a personal updated (in moderation).... so that's it for the first post. We'll see where it goes from here.
